The starting point for this hike is the Gabiet Alp, which can be reached by cable lift from Staffal or by trail 7A through the Moos valley.
When you reach the top station of the Staffal-Gabiet cable lift, follow the ski slope that descends from the Passo dei Salati for a stretch and then, before the Albergo del Ponte, turn left along a fairly level dirt road that leads to the Lavetz alpine pasture. At the bottom on the left, you can admire a very high waterfall of the torrent, which then flows into a narrow canyon-like gorge called Leisch. Before reaching the huts, we turn right and follow a zig-zag path to reach a small dam, which is used to collect glacier water to be conveyed to Lake Gabiet. Shortly afterwards, leave this path, which leads to the Mantova and Gnifetti huts, and turn left following the track, which is not always clearly visible, in the direction of the Punta Teltschò. The very undulating terrain, where alpine pastures and scree alternate, makes it possible to reach in a short time first Lake Verde and then, higher up on the left, Lake Blu. These are two characteristic alpine lakes formed following the retreat of glacial fronts.
The return is along the itinerary of the ascent.
