Chapels in the Lys Valley

Places of history and worship

Cappella di S.Anna

The Alps have always been places particularly rich in religious buildings. And this is not only found in our Region, but also in the entire Alpine region.

It so happens to those who venture into the valleys to encounter along the way, numerous chapels, erected most often, in isolated places and generally dedicated to a Saint to whom the native population is particularly devoted.

They are buildings built with extreme simplicity in which hovers, however, a deep religiosity that is difficult to find in other sacred places.

The most beautiful in Gressoney La Trinité

The Betta Chapel, dedicated to St. Anne, stands solitary in the midst of green pastures at an altitude of 2175 meters (4,970 feet) an hour's drive from the valley floor; it can also be reached by cable car from Staffal.
