The Regina Margherita Philharmonic Society was founded in 1922 by Mrs Teresa Yon, a primary school teacher from Gaby, who initiated no less than 38 pupils into music. The name of the then Queen of Italy, who loved to frequent the Lys Valley and from whom the name of the group derives, also appears among the founding members of the band. The repertoire includes traditional and modern marches, original band music and transcriptions from the opera-symphonic repertoire. The afternoon of Sunday 16th July is dedicated to the music of this band, which will perform in the streets of the centre. Don’t miss it!
