In the historic center of the municipality of Fontainemore, the information point of the Mont Mars reserve offers all the necessary directions to access this beautiful nature oasis.
The visitor center houses two permanent exhibits, one with a wildlife nature theme and the other dedicated to the ancient pilgrimage of the Fontainemore community to Oropa.
The gates of the Mont Mars Reserve are located at Pian Coumarial at an elevation of 1460 meters, from here a range of opportunities to explore this area through guided hikes or independent walks, with a choice of different itineraries branching off within this beautiful reserve.
In addition to the reserve, the territory of Fontainemore will surprise you with its ancient hamlets scattered along the road leading to Pian Coumarial. Through ancient mule tracks immersed in the colors of autumn you will not fail to be amazed walking through these places; the 'typical mountain architecture the history and traditions, will take you back to ancient times when man lived in close contact with nature.
The Reserve is also accessible during the winter season, 3 loops are dedicated to hiking and snowshoeing from 4 up to 10km and a 9km trail is dedicated to cross-country skiing.
