The ski slopes not to be missed:

  1. The Leonardo David slope in Weissmatten: a slope repeatedly named among the most beautiful and challenging in Italy, with two beautiful walls, one of which is illuminated even at night, and homologated for international Giant Slalom and Slalom competitions. In recent years, it has hosted the training sessions of the World Cup national teams of France, Canada, Spain and Switzerland. A slope for expert skiers that will give you great emotions.
  2. The Gabiet-Salati slope: in the main Monterosa Ski area, it is the slope on the slope leading to Valsesia, a moderately demanding slope with spectacular views and plenty of sun in the afternoon.
  3. The cross-country track at Gressoney Saint Jean: 25 km of beaten tracks with different difficulties and gradients, immersed in the most beautiful larch and evergreen forests with a ski school offering courses for all levels. A complete sport that will help you maintain the best physical and mental shape through the splendid sensations you will experience immersed in the uncontaminated nature of Gressoney.

Places of interest:

  1. The centre of Gressoney Saint Jean: Visit the picturesque historical centre of the village of Gressoney Saint Jean, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture, visit the characteristic shops and enjoy traditional delicacies.
  2. The centre of Gressoney La Trinitè : Visit the small historic centre of the village of Gressoney La Trinitè, from where the Punta Jolanda chairlift connects the centre of the village with the main Monterosa ski area, you will find little restaurants where you can sample Gressoney specialities.
  3. Mont Mars Nature Reserve: Explore the nature reserve at Fontainemore, where you can venture out on snowshoe or cross-country skiing trails. You can admire enchanting views and breathe in the fresh mountain air amidst its forests.

What to do in case of bad weather:

  1. Walser Museum: Take advantage of a rainy day to visit the Walser Museum, where you can discover and learn more about the history and culture of the Gressoney Valley.

  3. Savoia Castle: Good or bad weather, a stop at Savoy Castle is a must. A blend of Art Noveau and Neo-Gothic, it is located in Gressoney-Saint-Jean in a panoramic position within a park, a veritable forest, that also houses a botanical garden
  4. Fortress of Bard: Visit the most iconic fortress in the Aosta Valley; its interior houses local and international art galleries.

  1. The Sentieri del Lys: Plan a multi-day hike through the entire Gressoney Valley. From the Vigne di Donnas to the foot of Monte Rosa, each stage is unique. You will discover the various alpine huts along the way to spend the night and continue the adventure the next morning.
  2. Baptism of the 4000s: Thanks to the Indren station, you can climb up to 4000 meters in a day, such as an ascent to Punta Giordani and the Vincent Pyramid. 
  3. Visit neighboring towns: If you have more time on your hands, plan a visit to neighboring towns to discover the different facets of the region and enjoy traditional foods.
